Background & History
Balthasar is a wild one. At least for a grey elf. Grey elf society was too strict and boring for someone who is a little more carefree and chaotic. Especially since his family was the most noble of wizardly houses. Hi s father was conservative even for a grey elf. Balthasar had more interest in running through the forest than studying countles s tomes of magic. He would often elude his master and spend his afternoons in t he glens and lakes. During these times he developed his early 'rogue' skills an d also discovered he had a knack for songs and stories. He would often entertai n huge crowds with his playing. Of course they were bugs and animals, but they were a crowd! And he found that he could use his songs and stories to unlock hi s magical talents that were receiving little attention in the classroom. His fa mily, especially his father, regarded this as a very poor pasttime to 'real' wiz ardly.
Eventually Balthasar decided he needed to see more of the world and get awat fro m his father, who threatened to send him off to his uncle's tower. He began tra velling and found that his songs could earn him a few silvers that would get him drink and a room for the night. Because of his coloring he became known as Ash and indeed tends to wear greys and blacks. goals: See new things. Go on great adventures. And live to tell about it. Ash is very happy go lucky...for a grey elf.
